T.R. UniceTR Unice, Jr., Esq. – President and Managing Shareholder - born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, December 29, 1957. Admitted to The Florida Bar, 1982; U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, 1983; U.S. Court of Appeals, 111th Circuit, 1985; and U.S. Supreme Court, 1987. Attended The American University, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Jefferson College in 1979 and a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University in 1982. Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a Civil Trial Lawyer and, nationally, by the American Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Unice began his law practice as an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas and Pasco County, Florida in 1983, immediately after law school, where he served on the Arson Prosecution Unit working closely with insurance companies, state arson and fraud investigators and local fire investigative teams. Kate CooperAMIE K. Dilla, Esq - Associate - born in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, she attended the University of Central Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. Upon graduation Amie attended Stetson University College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree with an Advocacy Concentration. While at Stetson, Amie was an Associate Justice of the nationally-ranked Moot Court Team; taking home first place in the E. Earle Zehmer National Moot Court Competition. Upon becoming licensed, Amie served as an Associate State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit. Prior to joining Unice, Salman & Jensen, P.A., Amie worked in insurance defense, represented small business while at a boutique Clearwater law firm, and most recently was founder and principal attorney of Dilla Employment Law, P.A. where she represented employers and employees in a full range of employment matters. Amie is a tenacious and experienced litigator in both state and federal courts. She is as passionate about the law as she is about the clients she serves.

Amie is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to the U.S. District Court of Middle and Southern districts of Florida.

Amie enjoys spending time with her son, being involved with her local church, and volunteering her time as a practice judge for Stetson's Moot Court as well as serving as a judge for collegiate and post-graduate moot court competitions.READ MORE

Ben JamesBenjamin J. James, Esq - Associate - Born in Orlando, Florida, Benjamin “Ben” James attended Florida Southern College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History. Upon graduation, Ben attended Stetson University College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor Degree, cum laude, with a concentration in International Law. While at Stetson, he was awarded the Victor O. Whele Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and worked as a Research Assistant with the First Amendment Foundation.

Ben gained experience in leadership and service at an early age when he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and the President’s Volunteer Service Award, he continued to build upon this experience by being selected as a Teaching Assistant for one of Stetson Law’s nationally recognized Trial Advocacy Classes.

Prior to working for Unice, Salzman, Jensen, Ben worked in civil defense litigation where he represented nationally recognized brands. In his first year of practice, Ben co-authored a brief which successfully petitioned a judge to order $130,000 in discovery-related costs to be paid by the adverse party. When he isn’t working you can probably find Ben exploring one of Florida’s many State parks. Ben enjoys spending time with his wife, Amelia, and their two dachshunds in St. Petersburg, Florida. Laura E. SchinellaLaura E. Schinella, Esq - Associate - born in Long Island, New York. Ms. Schinella graduated from the University of South Florida summa cum laude and graduated from Stetson University College of Law with the William F. Blews, Pro Bono Service Award. While at Stetson, Ms. Schinella participated in several internships to include the United States Attorney’s Office, Violent Crimes and Narcotics Trafficking Division, in Washington, D.C. Ms. Schinella was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2013 and admitted to the Florida Bar in 2015.

Upon becoming licensed, Ms. Schinella served as an Assistant Public Defender in Fredericksburg, Virginia, an Assistant Public Defender for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in New Port Richey, Florida, and an Assistant State Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Schinella also founded and was the managing partner of Simon & Schinella, Attorneys at Law where she primarily focused her practice on criminal defense and personal injury representation and litigation. Ms. Schinella is a trained litigator and brings her criminal trial experience to the field of civil defense litigation where she will zealously defend your claim.
