Kate CooperKATE COOPER, Esq - Associate - Ms. Cooper provides civil litigation services in the areas of insurance defense, business, and corporate law. Prior to joining Unice, Salzman & Jensen P.A., Ms. Cooper represented small to prime federal contractors within the federal acquisition market, both nationally and locally through the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), providing counsel in the areas of corporate compliance, formation, mergers, and acquisitions. Ms. Cooper obtained a favorable outcome before the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of a mid-tier company faced with a workplace discrimination claim.

For over a decade, Ms. Cooper has successfully used mediation, neutral evaluation, and collaborative law in her representation of clients in both civil and criminal practice. As a civil litigator, Ms. Cooper represented and advised clients on a wide variety of matters relating to business law including helping clients form a new company or protect their current venture. Ms. Cooper has represented start-ups, established businesses large or small, and employers. She also handles cases involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and landlord/tenant disputes.

In serving the local Tampa Bay community Ms. Cooper has served as both an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit and as an Assistant Public Defender in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. She was elected by the President of the Florida Bar to serve on both the Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee and the Military Affairs Committee of the Florida Bar. She is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida, the U.S. Middle District of Florida and is an accredited attorney for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

A native of Woodbridge, Virginia, she graduated from Gar-Field High school and completed her B.A. in Government & International Politics with George Mason University.
